13-storey Herdsman Central rebuffed

CHRIS THOMSON

A $93 million office project called Herdsman Central that would rise to 13 storeys at Osborne Park has been recommended for refusal.

The pictured buildings are being planned for 302 Selby Street North in the Herdsman Business Park.

Osborne Park-based Callon Select Pty Ltd, which owns the land, wants to erect three office blocks on the 10,736sqm site.

Herdsman CentralBut the City of Stirling has recommended that a state planning panel refuse Herdsman Central when the panel next meets on August 19.

The city reasons that the Herdsman Central office blocks do not comply with the ‘industry’ zone in which they would sit.

The plans include a 13-storey office block with ground-floor restaurant, eight-storey office block, and five-storey office block with ground-floor restaurant.

If approved against the city’s wishes, and eventually built, Herdsman Central will include 790 car bays and 80 bicycle spots.
