Zorzi display home Australia’s best

CHRIS THOMSON

A mansion built in Dalkeith to raise funds for charity was today named Australia’s best display home.

In 2009, Subiaco-based Zorzi Builders erected the palatial residence at 11 Jutland Parade.

Its sale was intended to raise funds for the Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of WA and Civilian Maimed and Limbless Association of WA.

Today, at the Gold Coast Convention Centre, the mansion took out the Housing Industry Association’s Australian Display Home of the Year award.

The two-storey, four-bedroom Zorzi display home is designed to accommodate a three-generation family.

Zorzi display homeIncluded are a private master bedroom wing, three bathrooms, powder room, four-car air-conditioned garage, finger-touch security, home cinema, study, indoor/outdoor living areas, landscaped pool.

An independent ‘living pod’ includes a kitchen, wardrobe and bathroom.

The floors of the home are connected by an internal lift making the house completely accessible by wheelchair.

Despite the opulence, the HIA judges said the mansion displayed “understated elegance”.

The award was one of 20 national housing gongs handed out at Broadbeach today.

The only other WA company honoured was Dale Alcock Home Improvement, named Australian renovator of the year.
